Call for Papers:
Special issue on "Trustworthy Software Systems for the Digital Society"

Journal of Systems and Software
(CFP-JSS-COMPSAC.PDF)

Creating the digital society calls for all aspects of computing, software development, software systems engineering, and applications. To sustain it, however, the need for trustworthy software systems is of paramount importance. Foundations, methodologies, architectures, and mechanisms that support modeling, design, implementation, and evaluation of trustworthy software systems and applications are of great concern.

New computing paradigms and techniques have emerged in recent years for developing software systems in the Internet era, such as service-oriented computing, cyber physical system, and Internet of things. This special issue focuses on innovative methods and techniques in order to address unique trustworthy issues introduced by new computing paradigms and techniques. Original submissions reflecting latest research observation and achievement in the following areas are invited:
  •  Software life cycle, evolution, and mainte¬nance
  •  Real-time and embedded systems
  •  Requirements engineering
  •  Mobile & pervasive computing
  •  Formal methods
  •  Smart computing
  •  Software architecture and design
  •  Web semantics
  •  Software testing
  •  Web services and systems
  •  Reliability, metrics, and fault tolerance
  •  Cloud computing
  •  HCI and usability
  •  Education and learning
  •  Security
  •  Applications

Submissions

Articles may be invited to submit directly to the special issue, or be selected for the special issue from papers presented at the COMPSAC 2012, The 36th Annual International Computer Software and Applications Conference (www.compsac.org). For direct submission, articles must be formatted according to Journal of Systems and Software guidelines: (http://www.elsevier.com/wps/find/journaldescription.cws_home/505732/authorinstructions#16001).

Manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission and peer review systems at http://ees.elsevier.com/jss. Follow the submission instructions given on this site; please select the article type as “Special Issue: COMPSAC”. Previously published conference papers must be substantially revised, improved, and extended from their earlier versions with at least 35% new “contributions” and the authors provide a summary of the new contributions over the published papers.

Please contact Dr. Xiaoying Bai (baixy@tsinghua.edu.cn) for further information about this special issue.
